Terms of use

Formattr is free to use. These terms are short because the service is simple: the tools run in your browser and we never receive your content.

Using Formattr

You may use Formattr for personal and commercial work without an account. Please do not attempt to disrupt the service, circumvent its security controls, or scrape it in a way that degrades it for others.

Your content

What you paste stays yours and stays on your device. Formattr processes it locally and does not transmit it, so we claim no rights to it and cannot recover it. See the privacy page for details.

Output and accuracy

Formatters and converters are built on well-tested open-source libraries, but no tool is perfect. Review output before you rely on it — particularly conversions between formats with different data models, such as JSON to CSV. Formattr is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for losses arising from its use, to the extent the law allows.

Advertising

Some pages show ads served by Google AdSense, outside the workspace. Ad providers are responsible for their own content and data practices, subject to the consent choices you make.

Third-party software

Formattr includes open-source libraries such as Prettier, sql-formatter, yaml, fast-xml-parser, papaparse and CodeMirror, each under its own license.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product changes. The date above shows the latest revision. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
